Abstract
Objective To explore the correlation of nonalcoholic fatty liver with insulin resistance. Methods The subjects were 85 patients with fatty liver diagnosed by B ultrasonic echograph, while the controls were 32 normal individuals.Oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT),insulin release test(IRT),c_peptide release test(CPRT) and insulin sensitivity index(ISI) were performed. Results Serum glucose, insulin levels,c_peptide levels at fasting and 0.5h,1h,2h,3h after glucose intake in the fatty liver patients were significantly higher and ISI was lower than that of controls(P0.05~0.01).There was no significant difference among fatty liver patients with different degree(P0.05).Conclusion Evident insulin resistance exsists in the patients with fatty liver, which suggests that insulin resistance may play a role in the pathogenesis of fatty liver.
