Abstract

Objective To investingate the relationship between insulin resistance and fatty liver in type 2 diabetes. Methods BMI,fasting blood glucose, insulin, glycohemoglubin, lipids, liver function tests and examination of type B ultrasonography were detectcd in all 154 patients with type 2 diabetes. They were divided into two groups with and without fatty liver according to the examination of type B ultrasonography. Results BMI,the levels of triglyceride, low density lipoprotein and fastiong blood insulin of the patients with fatty liver were significantly higher than those of the patients without fatty liver(P0.05),but the level of a lipoprotein was lower than that of the patients without fatty liver(P0.05).Conclusion Obvious insulin resistance and disorder of lipid metabolism exist in the type 2 diabetes with fatty liver.Controlling the blood glucose and lipid for decreasing the insulin resistance might be useful to prvent the steatohepatites and hepatic cirrhosis.
