Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of Guangaiteng on anti-inflammatory and analgesia. Methods The anti-inflammatory effect of Guangaiteng was studied by the mouse ear edema model induced by Xylene and carrageenan-induced rat paw edema model. The analgesic effect was observed by using mouse acetic acid writhing and hot plate method. Results Guangaiteng significantly reduced the xyleneinduced mouse ear edema,high-,middle-,low-dose of Guangaiteng significantly reduced inflammation after 2 h,high-,middle-dose Guangaiteng significantly reduced inflammation after 4 h.Latency of Guangaiteng group was prolonged, writhing significantly was reduced and pain threshold was increased. Conclusions Guangaiteng has significant anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect.
