Abstract

Objective To study the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of Yuefan suppository. Methods Models of acetic acid-induced writhing and hot-plate test in mice were used to study the analgesic effect.Models of acute inflammatory reactions of xylene-induced mice ear edema and carrageen-induced mice paw edema were performed to study the anti-inflammatory effects. Results Yuefan plug significantly suppressed xylene-induced mice ear edema and carrageen-induced mice paw edema. The writhing times of mice induced by acetic acid were decreased and pain threshold was remarkably improved by Yuefan suppository. Conclusion Yuefan suppository possesses significant anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.
