Abstract
Objective To evaluate anesthesia effect of small incision non-phacoemulsification cataract surgery under surface anesthesia. Methods 100 patients undergone cataract surgery with topical anesthesia. The level of pain and postoperative visual acuity were observed. Results All patients could tolerate the operations, except one case was given peribulbar anesthesia again;average operation time was(15±5) min;1 cases felt slight pain in all cases(1%).1 month after surgery, the best corrected visual acuity≥0.3 in 98%cases.Conclusions Small incision non-phacoemulsification small incision cataract surgery could be done under topical anesthesia, and is a safe, effective, economical choice. It is suitable for use in project of prevention blindness.
