Abstract
A new catalytic kinetic method for the determination of trace iron(Ⅲ) was established based on the catalytic action of iron(Ⅲ) on the oxidative fade reaction between Arsenazo M(AM) and KIO4 in H2SO4 medium. The optimum conditions and the kinetic parameters were investigated. The linear range for the determination of iron(Ⅲ) by the proposed method is 0.00~0.60μg/25mL,the detection limit is 6.1×10-10g/mL.The method has been used for the determination of trace iron(Ⅲ) in the Chinese herbal medicine and food with satisfactory results.
