Abstract

Objective: To investigate the nosogenesis of hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy by detecting the expression of resistin in the placenta. Methods: We selected 20 cases of hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and 10 cases of normal pregnancy. The former contained 10 cases of gestational hypertension, whose pressure were ≥140/90mmHg and urine protein were negative;and another 10 cases were pre-eclampsia,whose pressure fluctuated in the range of 140~180/90~125mmHg and urine protein were(+~++++).The expression of resistin was detected by streptavidin-peroxidase immunohistochemistry with appropriate antibodies. Results: Resistin was positively expressed in the plasm of placenta villus trophoblastic cells. The expression of resistin that in pre-eclampsia were markedly lower than those of control,P0.05;no significant differences between gestational hypertension and the control,P0.05.The expression of resistin and the birth weight was strongly correlated(r=0.883,P0.05).Conclusion: Resistin meybe play a role in the nosogenesis of hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy. The expression of resistin in the placenta declined maybe caused by the depressed placental function when pre-eclampsia occurred. It can be inferred that resistin is not the cause but the result in the nosogenesis of pre-eclampsia.Resistin may be taken part in the occurance of fetal growth restriction in the pre-eclampsia.
