Investigation On AIDS Knowledge Situation Among Different Populations In Guzhen County

Objective To understand AIDS knowledge awareness among migrant workers,students and permanent residents in Guzhen county,and provide evidence for AIDS health education.Methods 500 people were randomly selected from 3 kinds of people,and were investigated using AIDS related knowledge questionnaires.Results The average awareness rate of AIDS related knowledge of 3 kinds of people was 70.8%.The rate of correct answers that AIDS could be transmitted by blood transfusion was the highest,it was 91.2%.The rate of correct answers whether mosquitoes carry AIDS was the lowest rate,only 44.2%.People with different culture levels had different understanding.The awareness rate was the lowest in illiteracy(38.9%).People aged from 30 to 39 had a higher rate(76.9%),and people aged below 20 or above 50 had a lower rate(48.5% and 50.0% respectively).The most popular way to obtain AIDS knowledge was through TV(accounted for 99.8%),the next was through doctors and window advertisements.Conclusion 3 kinds of popnlations in Guzhen had poor awareness rates of AIDS related knowledge.Propaganda of knowledge about AIDS control and prevention should be vigorously promoted,to prevent AIDS spread among the general population.
