Abstract

The study of the metaphor has a long history,transforming from the study of rehetorics to cognition.The metaphor is of universiaty and comcept in essence,and it is a useful tool of cognition.The metaphor is the basis which humans use to for concept,the tool which human use to summarize experience,providing a new perspective of knowing the world.Therefore,in foreign languages teaching teachers should direct students to know the metaphor in language,develop students' metaphorical thinking,hoping to achieve the good effectiveners of teaching.
