Observation of imiquimod cream and recombinant human interferon (α-2b) gel in preventing the recurrence of condyloma acuminatum

Objective:To observe the effect of imiquimod cream and recombinant human interferon(α-2b) gel in preventing the recurrence of condyloma acuminatum after CO2 laser treatment.Methods:Ninety patients of condyloma acuminatum were randomized into groups A,B adn C,all the patients were treated with CO2 laser firstly,then the group A was treated with 5% imiquimod cream,the group B was treated with interforn(α-2b) gel,the group C were treated with CO2 laser only.Results:The recurrence rates of groups A,B and C were9.38%、30.00%、78.57% respectively.Conclusion:Using 5% imiquimod cream and recombinant human interferon(α-2b) gel topically is effective in the prevention of condyloma acuminatum relapse after CO2 laser treatment(P0.01). The 5% imiquimod cream is the better(P0.05).
