Abstract
Objective: To observe clinical efficacy of CO2 laser combined with external application of 5% Imiquimod cream in treatment of condyloma acuminatum. Methods: 85 patients with condyloma acuminatum were collected and randomly divided into observation group( 43 cases) and control group( 42 cases). The observation group was given the therapy of CO2 laser combined with external application of 5% Imiquimod cream treatment, while the control group only adopted CO2 laser treatment. Results: The cure rate and the recurrence rate of observation group were 83. 7% and 16. 3%,respectively,while those of control group were 47. 6% and52. 4%,and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant( P 0. 05). Conclusions: The treatment of CO2 laser combined with the external application of 5% Imiquimod cream has a certain efficacy in the treatment of condyloma acuminatum and can considerably reduce the recurrence rate, which is superior to the treatment with CO2 laser only.
