Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of remifentanil combined with propofol anesthesia on the pain-free gastroscopy. Methods Two hundred patients with ASA I-II,scheduled for gastroscopy, were randomly allocated to receive remifentanil combined with propofol or propofol only. The vital signs, sedative and analgesic effects, recovery time and side effects of the two groups were recorded respectively. Results The sedative and analgesic effects of remifentanil combined with propofol were obviously superior to propofol. The incidence of hypotension and bradycardia in former group was lower than later one. Conclusion Remifentanil combined with propofol anesthesia is a safe and effective therapy by which patients will enjoy a pain-free examination during gastroscopy.
