Abstract

Objective:To explore the expression and significance of NF-κB in placenta of patients with preeclampsia. Methods:90 hospitalized patients were selected from the hospital from January 2008 to January 2010,including 30 patients in control group and 60 patients in preeclampsia group(30 patients with mild preeclampsia and 30 patients with severe preeclampsia).Radioimmunoassay was used to detect the expressions of NF-κB p65 and IκB-α in placenta. Results:The expression level of NF-κB p65 in placenta in preeclampsia group was significantly higher than that in control group, while the expression level of IκB-α in placenta in preeclampsia group was significantly lower than that in control group(P0.01).The expression level of NF-κB p65 in placenta in severe preeclampsia group was significantly higher than that in mild preeclampsia group, while the expression level of IκB-α in severe preeclampsia group was significantly lower than that in mild preeclampsia group(P0.01). Conclusion:NF-κB in placenta of patients with preeclampsia is activated and enhanced, and it participates in immune inflammatory response and injury of placental cells, thus,it participates in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.
