Expression of Survivin in Thyroid Carcinoma and its Clinical Significance

Objective To study the expression of survivin in Thyroid Carcinoma and its Clinical Significance.Methods Normal thyroid tissues from twelve people and thyroid cancer tissues obtained from 35inpatients were detect the expression of survivin by immunohistochemistry SP method and RT-PCR method.Results 1.SP method:The positive rates of normal thyroid tissues、papillary thyroid carcinoma、follicular thyroid carcinoma、medulla thyroid carcinoma were 16.7%、60%、69.2%、91.6%,the survivin positive rate increased correlated with the higher histological grade of thyroid carcinoma.There was significant difference between every two groups statistically(P0.05).2.RT-PCR method:The relative contents of survivin in normal thyroid tissues、papillary thyroid carcinoma、follicular thyroid carcinoma、 medulla thyroid carcinoma were 32.148±9.513、59.154±10.086、67.25±8.478、86.898±6.944,Compared with normal thyroid tissue,the relative contents of survivn mRNA thyroid cancer tissues was correlated with histological type of differentiation(P0.05).Conclusion Survivin is closely related to the histologic types of thyroid cancer,detecting of survivn may become one of the important prognosis indexes of thyroid cancer patients.
