Abstract

Objective To investigate CT and MRI findings of central neurocytoma. Methods CT and MRI data of 9 cases with central neurocytoma confirmed by surgical histopathology were analyzed retrospectively. Results The lesions were located in lateral ventricles or anterior two thirds of septum pellucidum and near monro's foramen. All lesions showed isodensity or slight hyperdensity on CT,isointensity or slight hypointensity on MRI T1WI,and inhomogeneous hyperintensity on MRI T2WI. The lesions showed slight to moderate heterogeneous enhancement after intensified scane. The lesions were all with well-defined margin and cystic change can be seen in them. Conclusions Central neurocytoma should be considered when lesions were located in septum pellucidum or anterior horn of lateral ventricles CT and MRI were helpful to diagnosis.
