Abstract

Objective To establish a rapid, accurate, practical and propagable method for determination of selenium in foods by hydride generation-atomic fluorescence spectrometry. Methods Using the optimized sample digestion condition, the samples were digested through double heating of graphite furnace digestion instrument, making the sample weighing, digestion and constant volume be finished in the same digestion tube. Without cold digestion overnight, the samples were directly determined after 2 h ~ 3 h digestion. Results Selenium showed good linearity in the range of 0 μg / L ~ 50 μg / L( r≥0. 999),the detection limit was 0. 12 μg / L,the relative standard deviation was 1. 5% ~ 6. 9%,and the recovery rate was 96% ~ 103%. Quality control results was in the certificate scope. Conclusion The improved method can obviously shorten the sample treatment time and reduce the dosage of acid digestion. Both precision and accuracy can meet the detection requirements,it is a fast and accurate method for determination of selenium in food.
