Abstract

[Objective] To get an insight into the epidemiological characteristics of influenza A(H1N1)outbreak and to provide a scientific basis for the control of Influenza A(H1N1)outbreaks in schools.[Methods]We investigated the outbreak of Influenza(H1N1)in the middle school in Kaifeng by using field epidemiological investigation methods, while collecting the specimens of the throat swab and using real-time RT-PCR to detect virus nucleic acid of the influenza A(H1N1).Patients were isolated and treated, close contacts were medical observed and surveillance and other measures were strengthened.[Results]Epidemic lasting 13 days, there were 40 cases of influenza-like illness, including 12 cases of laboratory testing of throat swab specimens were positive for the influenza A(H1N1)DNA.No cases occurred renewal after 7 day’s medical observation of the 109 close contacts.[Conclusion]The epidemic was the first influenza(H1N1)outbreak in school in Kaifeng. The epidemic was controlled by using of field epidemiological investigation methods, and taking the management of sources of infection, cutting off transmission, strengthening surveillance and other comprehensive measures.
