Abstract
Objective Through investigation and control of an outbreak of influenza A(H1N1) at a school in Guangdong,to analyze the epidemic features and control measure effects, thus providing reference basis for community influenza A(H1N1) prevention and control. Methods To investigate the influenza A(H1N1) outbreak aggregated epidemic at a school reported in Taishan County of Guangdong Province with active searching and questionnaire survey, and analyze it with descriptive epidemiological method.Throat swabs of patients were collected for influenza A(H1N1) virus nuclear detection. Results The epidemic involved 9 classes out of 10 in the affected primary school, and 61 influenza-like illness(ILI) cases were found(all students, attack rate 11.9%,61/514) through active case searching. The index case presented on June 19th,while the last on June 30th,and the epidemic lasted for 12 days, with peak on June 24th.A total of 12 throat swabs of ILI cases were detected positive for influenza A(H1N1) virus nucleic acid. Conclusion The origin of the influenza A(H1N1) influenza outbreak was possibly caused by introduced cases or inapparent infections of home-returning overseas Chinese.
