Abstract
Objective To study the chemical constituents of the leaves of Ilex asprella in order to reveal the active components for their further development. Methods The compounds were isolated by chromatography on silica gel columns and identified on the basis of physico-chemical properties and spectral analysis. Results Nine compounds were obtained and identified as rotundioic acid(1),2α,3β,19α-trihydroxy-urs-12-ene-23,28-dioic acid(2),2α,3β,19α-trihydroxyolean-12-ene-23,28-dioic acid(3),kaempferol(4),kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucoside(5),colorless oil(6),balanophonin(7),β-sitosterol(8),daucosterol(9).Conclusions Compounds 17 are isolated from this plant for the first time.
