Citation of Song Dynasty Edition Yupian(玉篇) from Shuowen Jiezi(说文解字):an Investigation

Abstract

Content that cites Daxu edition Shuwen Jiezi(说文解字) definitely marked in Song dynasty edition Yupian(玉篇) includes meaning explanation,form analysis,citation,phonetic notation,word form and repetitious passage.The difference of the citation from corresponding item shows in twelve aspects.Reasons for the difference may result from that the revisers referred to other editions of Shuowen Jiezi(说文解字) but not Daxu edition,or they changed the original text in citation or mistakes emerged in the circulation of Song dynasty edition Yupian(玉篇) and Shuowen Jiezi(说文解字).
