Abstract

Objective To investigate the drug resistance and genotypes of metallo-β-lactamases-producing(MBL) Enterobacter cloacae. Methods Enterobacter cloacae identified by VITEK-2 system, antimicrobial sensitivity tests were performed by K-B method.MBL producing bacteria were screened by the double disk synergy test, and the MBL encoded genes were amplified by Polymeras(PCR).The genotypeswere confirmed by PCR products electrophoresis. Results The resistant rates of ceftazidime,Cefoxitin, imipenem,Meropenem, amikacin, cefepime, ciprofloxacin were 52.5%,52.5%,92.5%,7.5%,5.5%,65.0%,12.5%,85.0%,respectively.Among 40strains,3(7.5%) strains produced MBL.Two strains carried the genotype IMP among the 3 metallo-β-lactamases-producing strains. Conclusion Clinical antibiotics using should be depended on the antimicrobial susceptibility test results.Because of MBL-producing strains exist, the drug resistance of Enterobacter cloacae to imipenem carbapenem antibiotics is increasing.
