Study on the wild plant resources and their exploitation and protection in Henan Province

There exists 3158 wild species in 966 genera and 181 families of vascular plant in Henan Province. According to their usage, they can be divided into 15 groups, which are timber plants (containing 474 species), fiber plants (271), starch plants (140), wild fruit (144), oil-bearing plants (291), wild vegetables (150), ornamental plants (534), medicinal plants (1172), forage grasses and fodder plants (246), perfume plants (143), tanning material and dyestuff plants (259), resin and gum-bearing plants (29), honey-resource plants (171), poisonous plants (80). For the sustainable use of the wild plant resources, some measures for exploitation and protection of them are put forward finally.
