Abstract
Objective To evaluate the effect of carvedilol in heart failure(HF) after myocardial infarction. Methods 103 patients with HF after myocardial infarction were divided randomly into two groups. Control group was regular treatment group treated with ACE inhabtor, digoxin and diuretic, carvedilol group was treated with carvedilol on the basis of above regular treatment. All the patients have been followed up for six months and measured the changes of cardiac function by echocardiography. Results Compared with the control group, LVEDD,LVESD,rehospitalization rate and mortality was decreased in carvedilol group(P0.05). LVEF was significantly increased(P0.01) in Carvedilol group(P0.01). Conclusion For patients with HF after myocardial infarction, carvedilol may improve quality of life and cardiac function, decline the mortality and rehospitalization rate of heart failure
