Abstract

OBJECTIVE The efficacy and safety were analyzed in patients with mild to moderate essential hypertension treated with angiotensin Ⅱ receptor blockade candesartan.METHODS The 82 patients with essential hypertension were divided into two groups randomly, candesartan group(treat with candesartan,8 mg·d-1) and benazepril group(treat with benazepril,10 mg·d-1).The efficacy and trough/peak ratio(blood pression descend) were observed after 8 weeks. RESULTS In two groups, the blood pressure was descend significantly(P0.05),the total effective rate were 64% and 62% respectively,no significant difference in two groups(P0.05).Trough/peak ratio: SBP/DBP was 0.85/0.83 in candesartan group,SBP/DBP was 0.68/0.64 in benazepril group, the difference was significant(P0.05).CONCLUSION Treat with candesartan(8 mg·d-1) in mild to moderate essential hypertension patients is efficacy and safety, and has a high trough/peak ratio.
