Abstract
Objective To investigate clinical significance and expression of p16 and nm23 in bladder transitional cell carcinoma. Methods p16 and nm23 expression were detected in 69 specimens by SP of immunohistochemistry.Results(40.57)% of bladder carcinoma were positive in p16 expression,while(43.45)% were positive in nm23 expression.Significant correlation was found between p16,nm23 positive expression and tumor grade and clinical stage, the lower the p16,nm23 positive expression is,the higher the tumor grade and clinical stage. In relapsing bladder carcinoma, the positive expression were lower. Conclusion p16 and nm23 expression may be a useful prognostic indicator and potentially useful for assessing tumor malignant extent.
