Clinical Observation on 40 Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Cases Treating by the Method of Supplementing Qi, Nourishing Yin, Clearing Heat, Removing Toxitant and Eliminating Stagnation

Objective: To observe the curative effects of treating on advanced NSCLC patients using traditional Chinese medicine of supplementing Qi, nourishing Yin, clearing Heat, removing toxitant and eliminating stagnation. Methods : The Eighty patients were randomly divided into two groups, 40 in each. Patients were treated by Chinese medicine for supple-menting Qi, nourishing Yin, clearing Heat, removing toxitant and eliminating stagnation in treatment group, and the best sup-port treatment in control group. The changes of short-term curative effects, quality of life, weight and immune indexes were observed after the treatment. Results:The short-term curative effects of the treatment and control group were 65.0% and 37.5%respectively, with difference statistically(P0.05), and the treatment group showed better the short-term curative effect than the control group. After treatment the rate of improvement on the quality of life was 77.5% for treatment group, while the control group was 52.5%, and the treatment group was better than that of control group, with statistical significance( P0.05). On body weight gaining, the treatment group was superior to the control group, with statistical significance( P0.05).The treatment group was better on moderating immune function than the control group on the aspects of the NK cells, IL-2, CD4+/CD8+, etc. And the difference was statistically significant(P0.05). Conclusion: The traditional Chinese medicine of supplementing Qi, nourishing Yin, clearing Heat, removing toxitant and eliminating stagnation method in the treatment of advanced non small cell lung cancer has a better short-term effect, can improve the quality of life of patients, increase the patient's weight, and improve the immunity function of patients.
