Analysis on Evaluation Indices of Veterinary Sciences Journals Included in SCI

Abstract
According to the latest online edition(2010) of SCI Journal Citation Reports JCR,a statistical analysis was conducted on 145 kinds of veterinary medicine journals and their evaluation indices.The results showed that the 145 journals were distributed in 35 countries;among them,86 journals were issued in Britain,VS,Netherlands and Germany,accounting for more than half(59.31%);101 journals were issued only in English,accounting for 69.66%.Generally,the evaluation indices were low in article amounts,citation frequency,and impact factor of journal of veterinary medicine.In order to provide reference to veterinary researchers in reading the documents,information retrieval and submission to SCI source journals,this paper introduced some journals with higher issue amount,impact factor and citation frequency.
