Abstract

The antioxidant activities of 100% aqueous and 50% aqueous ethanolic extracts of fruit bodies of Cordyceps militaris,strain B6,and a derived albino strain,AB6,were evaluated in vitro.Both the AB6 extracts were more effective at scavenging DPPH· than the corresponding B6 extracts.However,although aqueous extracts of AB6 were more effective than the corresponding B6 extracts in scavenging ·OH,the reverse was true in the case of the aqueous ethanolic extracts.
