Abstract

Aqueous extracts from Selenium-enriched cultured mycelia and fruit body of Cordyceps militaris were tested in vitro for their antioxidant ability in different systems.The hydroxyl free radical scavenging of extracts under optimized conditions of Fenton system were studied.The scavenging activities on superoxide were tested by pyrogallol autooxidation reaction.Comparison for reducing power was run in potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) reduction.The results showed that in the different antioxidant systems,extract gave a dose-dependant effect antioxidation activities.Selenium polysaccharide from fruiting body possessed the strongest antioxidant capacity.Hydroxyl radicals scavenging capacity is 6 times more than regular mycelium Polysaccharides.After 90 s superoxide anion scavenging rate was equal to BHT,autoxidation inhibition rate remained at 27%.At a concentration of 50 mg ·mL-1A700,reducing power reached 0.886.Selenium enriched fruiting body extract antioxidant ability of Cordyceps extracts antioxidant capacity could be enhanced.
