Status and protection strategies of the water bird in Shandong Province

Abstract

In order to protect and use the resource of wetland water birds in Shandong Province effectively, we conducted the studies on the status of wetland water birds in this area. The results showed that there were 147 species of wetland water birds belong to 13 families and 9 orders of wetland water birds in Shandong province, in which there were 5 species of residents, 57 species of migrants and 85 species of travelers. There were 38 species of summer migrants and 19 species of winter migrants. 15 species were listed as endangered birds of the national wildlife for protection .There were 101 species water birds in《Chinese and Japanese migrants protection agreement》. The present status of the wetland and wetland water bird in Shandong province were analyzed. Problems in resources of wetland water birds and corresponding protection strategies were also proposed.
