Abstract

Objective To study the relationship between the expression of CD44V6?E-cadherin and nm23-H1 protein and the clinicopathological characteristics in human renal cell carcinoma(RCC).Methods The expression of CD44V6?E-cadherin and nm23-H1 protein were detected in 46 cases of renal cell carcinoma tissue and 10 cases of normal kidney tissue with S-P immunohistochemical method. Results The over expression of CD44V6 protein in RCC had a significant positive correlation with vascular invasion(P0.05).But the positive expression of E-cadherin and nm23-H1 protein in RCC was significantly lower than that in normal kidney tissue(P0.01),showing a positive correlation with histological grade of the RCC(P0.05).No significant relationship was found between the positive expression rates of CD44V6?E-cadherin?nm23-H1 protein and the size?histopathological type of RCC(P0.05).Conclusion The over expression of CD44V6 and the low-expression of E-cadherin and nm23-H1 may be good indicators for predicting metastasis and the prognosis of RCC.
