Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of MMP3 and TIMP2 in cervical cancer as well as their relationships with clinical characteristics.Methods The expression of MMP3 and TIMP2 were examined with immun-ohistochemical technique(S-P) in the specimens from 46cases of cervical cancer and 20 cases of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN) and 10 cases of cervical epithelium.Results The positive rate of MMP3 expression was higher in cervical cancer than that in the CIN and cervical epithelium(P0.05),while the positive rate of TIMP2 expression was marked lower in cervical cancer than that in the CIN and cervical epithelium(P0.05);The expression of MMP3 was correlated with the differentiation of tumor cells and lymph node metastasis(P0.05),but not with the age,type of tissue and clinic staging(P0.05);The expression of TIMP2 was correlat-ed with the differentiation of tumor cells and lymph node metastasis(P0.05),but not with the age,type of tissue and clinic staging(P0.05).Conclusions MMP3 and TIMP2 may involve in the carcinogenesis of cervical cancer,and their disequilibrium may correlate with clinic staging of cervical cancer.
