Abstract
Objective To carry out and evaluate the effect of the comprehensive community-based intervention on hypertension. Methods The communities of Yinchuan were randomly selected as intervention group and control group.Community-based comprehensive intervention was carried out in the intervention group while routine treatment of hypertension was carried out in the control group. The effect of the interventions were compared after 1 year. Results One year after the community-based intervention, the average SBP(142.221±14.03)mmHg and DBP(85.283±13.99)mmHg in intervention group were significantly lower than those in control group. The percentages of awareness and control of hypertension in intervention group were significantly higher than those in control group. Conclusion Community-based comprehensive intervention is an effective way to increase the percentages of awareness and control of hypertension, and to decrease the occurrence of complications at population level.
