Abstract

Objective: Exploring the feasibility and effectiveness of community-based intervention on hypertension.Method: 92 patients with hypertension in our school were given health care, and life style intervention and individualized medicine intervention according to the guide to hypertension prevention, then all the patients were followed up for 16 months, and the changes of life style, decreasing degree in high blood and the occurrence of related complications were carefully observed.Result: Before the intervention, the number of the subjects who gave up smoking and drinking, ate low-salt diet, exercised regularly and controlled their weight was 21.7%,28.3%,34.7% and 32.6 respectively. But after the intervention, the number was 86.9%、89.1%、85.9% and 71.7%(P0.01) respectively. Before the intervention, the awareness rate, treatment rate and control rate for patients with hypertension in our school was 60.8%、43.4%、28.3%t,after the intervention, rate was raised to 97.8%、80.4%、84.8%(P0.05).Before the intervention, the average SBP was 158.73±10.06mmHg,and DBP was 103.40±7.21mmHg,while after the intervention, the average SBP was 128.40±9.36mmHg,and DBP was 87.64±5.73mmHg(P0.05).Conclusion: Comprehensive community-based intervention on hypertension can effectively raise the awareness rate, treatment rate and control rate for patients and reduce the hypertension and the related complications.
