Causes analysis and countermeasures of unqualified examine samples of inpatients

Objective To analyze the causes of unqualified examine samples and provide reference to improve the qualified rate of test samples.Methods The unqualified test samples from January 2009 to December 2009 in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed and the countermeasures were developed.Results The unqualified rate of test samples was 1.25%.Among various types of test samples,the failure rate of microbial type was the highest,accounting for 7.35%,the next was blood gas analysis samples,accounting for 4.24%.Blood coagulation accounted for 41.22%,33.98% and 19.23% of the failure reasons in blood count samples,coagulation samples,and blood gas analysis samples respectively.Chylomicronimia blood accounted for 42.67%,37.54% and 26.35% in blood biological and chemical analysis samples,coagulation samples,and blood count samples respectively.And barcode error and too long transportation accounted for 30.23% and 24.42% in urine samples.Empty box and samples scarcity accounted for 45.18% and 23.54% in stool samples.The wrong type of samples accounted for 56.25% in blood gas analysis samples.The unqualified collection and the wrong-time collection accounted for 45.66% and 33.97% in microbiological samples.Conclusion It is of great significance to improve the quality of samples by strengthening the education before specimen collection,strictly implementing the check system,fostering the responsibility of nurses,and strengthening the communication among various departments.
