Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of nebulized inhalation of ambroxol combined with budesonide, ipratropium bromide and salbutamol in the treatment of patients with acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Methods 212 patients with AECOPD were randomly into group A(n=106) and group B(n=106).The basic treatments for two groups included intravenous antibiotics, antiasthmantics and apophlegmatisant. The group A was given inhalation of ambroxol combined budesonide, ipratropium bromide and salbutamol. The group B was given budesonide, ipratropium bromide and salbutamol. The pulmonary function and changes in dyspnea grade were compared between both groups before and after treatment. Results Patients in the group A were significantly improved than those in group B on pulmonary function(FEV1,FEV1/FVC,FEV1% Pred) and changes in dyspnea grade after the therapy(P0.01).Conclusion The therapy of inhalation ambroxol combined with budesonide, ipratropium bromide and salbutamol may effectively relieve the symptoms of AECOPD.
