Abstract

The surface hardening treatment of 40Cr alloy steel slag cam was carried out by laser and plasma arc quenching surface hardening technology. The microstructure and properties of 40Cr cam after surface treatment were studied. The results show that: after laser treatment, surface microstructure is refined, only some micro-cracks and pits on the surface of the worn; crack and tear larger on the surface of 40Cr steel in conventional hardening. The laser hardening material can effectively improve the surface hardness and wear resistance.
