Abstract
Objective:To study the correlation between the central corneal thickness (CCT) and the intraocular pressure (IOP) of myopia. Methods:We measured the IOP with Keeler Pulsair 3000 noncontact tonometer (NCT) in 701 eyes with myopia. We also measured the CCT and the average central corneal curvature (K). Results:The linear regression equation obtained:IOP(mmHg)=6.20+0.02CCT(μm)(F=55.153,p=0.0001).There were no significant differences in the IOP or the CCT among low myopia, middle myopia, high myopia and super high myopia. Conclusion:The IOP was directly proportional to the CCT. When the CCT was thicker, the IOP was higher. Linear regression analysis showed an increase of 0.20mmHg in IOP with an increase of 10μm in CCT.
