Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of telmisartan on obesity and glycolipid metabolism in insulin resistance rats.Methods Six-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were fed with high-fat diet for 8 weeks to induce obesity and insulin resistance.Treatment group were intragastric administrated with telmisartan dissolved in drinking water at a dosage of 5 mg/kg per day for 6 weeks,the other two groups were administrated by distilled water.Body weight,blood glucose,insulin and lipids in serum were measured.Results Compared with the model group,the body weight,TG,TC,FFA in the telmisartan group were significantly decrease(P0.05),FINS in telmisartan group was also significantly decrease,ISI was significantly increased(P0.05).Conclusion Telmisartan treatment might improvement of obesity and related metabolic disorders in diet-induced obese and resistance rats.
