The Compilation of Learning Ability Scale for College Students

Objective:To compile a learning ability scale for college students to measure their level of learning ability.Methods:By analyzing and sorting the answers to the questions in the open questionnaire,the rural scale were compiled and used to test 250 college students from four university in Fuzhou.Then the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were applied to the data.Results:The compiled Learning Ability Scale consisted of 55 items,three subscales(the Ability of Acquiring and Applying Knowledge,the Self-regulating Ability of Learning Process,the Ability of Managing and Applying Learning Resources).Factor analysis indicated that the three factors explain 63.66% of the variance with loading between 0.46～.73.Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the scale had good structural validity.Conclusion:The compiled Learning Ability Scale for College Students has satisfactory validities and reliabilities and is well suitable for measuring college students'level of learning ability.
