Contrastive Study of Ethnic Identity and National Identity

The construction of national identity plays a vital role in the course of building a harmonious socialist society;however,how to correctly understand and handle the relationship between ethnic identity and national identity should be instantly settled.As a matter of fact,ethnic identity differs from national identity and,to some extent,clashes with it while they complement each other.Only when the relationship between ethnic identity and national identity is well dealt with so as to make ethnic minorities,based on the original identity,form a national identity and realize a transfer from ethnic identity to national identity can the magnificent goal that all nations’common prosperity and socialist modernization are realized be achieved.
