Phase Study of Hepatic Hemangioma with Harmonic Gray-scale Contrast-enhanced Uhrasonography

Abstract

Objective To study the enhancement phases of hepatic hemangioma with harmonic gray-scale contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and evaluate its value.Methods Total 30 patients with hepatic hemangioma underwent contrast enhanced ultrasound examination.Scanning enhanced features of hepatic hemangioma were observed at digferent phases.The contrast agent SonoVue was injected into an antecubital vein in a bolus.Results All 30(100%) lesions were enhanced and presented as hypoechoic at arterial phase.At portal phase and late phase lesions were persistently enhanced with 26(86.7%)hyperechoic.At the early volume of enhancement,periphery-to-center spotty enhancement was observed in 27 nodules(90%).At the peak volume of enhancement,26(86.7%)remained peripherally enhanced.Conclusion The characteristic enhancement pattern in hepatic hemangioma with contrast-enhanced ultrasound was shown enhancement at arterial phase and the enhancement was persistent at portal phase and late phase.Ring or nodular raised from periphery of the tumor and centripetal fill-in.Contrast-enhanced ultrasound is useful in the diagnosis of hepatic hemangioma.
