Etiologic Analysis of Children with Short Stature

Abstract

Objective To probe the general etiology of children with short stature.Methods Clinical data of 943 cases of children with short stature were retrospectively analyzed,including pathography,physical and laboratory tests results.Results Endocrinopathy caused short stature 868 cases,of which ISS was 501cases(53.1%);growth hormone deficiency(GHD)was 240 cases(25.4%),others was 127 cases(13.4%);and of non-endocrinopathic etiology 75 cases(7.9%).Conclusion The etiology of short stature is various,with ISS and GHD is general,and we should definitude the etiology by correlative examination,so as to carry out early therapy.
