Analysis on “ga” in Huangxu Dialect of Deyang City

The frequently used dialectal word ga in Huangxu Town and its neighboring ones of Deyang City has a great variety of unique grammatical functions and features, which differs from southwestern official dialect of cities. This paper tries to analyze the tense characteristics of the word ga, its usage as structural auxiliary word as well as its functions in comparative sentences. Considering the special history of immigration from Hunan and Guangdong provinces to Huangxu Town, we are able to find that Huangxu dialect has certain close relationship with southwestern official dialect, Hunan dialect and Hakka Dialect, etc. from the historic change of the dialectal word ga.
