Abstract

Objective To discuss the value and operating method of procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids(PPH)in the treatment of severe hemorrhoids. Methods 152 cases of severe hemorrhoids subject to surgical treatment by PPH in our hospital from Oct.2001 to Sept.2006 were reviewed retrospectively. Results Operating time was 15-30 min.All patients discharged at the 3rd day after operation.Hemorrhoids in 148 cases disappeared after operation, and 140 cases were satisfaction with the treatment efficacy. After operation, there were 3 cases of bleeding,4 cases of hemorrhoids un-complete recovery, and 5 cases of external hemorrhoid. There was no postoperative encopresis, anal stenosis or perianal abscess. Conclusion The two half purse string suture and PPH combined with external hemorrhoid incision or local rectal mucosa suture above the dentate line can improve the PPH efficacy.
