Study on the correlation of self-care agency and healthy behaviors in patients with colostomy

Objective To determine the self-care agency,healthy behaviors and their correlation in patients with colostomy,and explore effective nursing measures.Method The Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale(ESCA) and the Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile(HPL) were used to assess patients' self-care agency and healthy behaviors.Results The mean scores of self-care agency and healthy behavior in patients with colostomy were(103.80±14.22) and(126.19±24.13) respectively,which showed a moderate level.Moreover,the result showed a moderate positive correlation between self-care agency and healthy behavior(r=0.410,P0.01).Conclusion When designing and implementing the nursing plan for patients with colostomy,it is necessary to pay attention to patients' stress adjustment,interpersonal relationship,physical activity and mental health,so as to enhance their self-care agency and promote healthy behaviors.
