Study on expression of TGFβ_1 and MMP-9 in placenta tissues of patients with preeclampsia and their relationship

Objective:Study on expression of TGFβ_1 and MMP-9 in the placenta tissues in order to evaluate the role of them and their relationship in preeclampsia.Methods:Immunohistochemistry was used on the normal group(15 cases)and the preeclampsia group(24 cases in total)to observe the location and distribution.High resolution pathological image analysis system was used to determine the expression of TGFβ_1 and MMP-9.Results:The levels of TGFβ_1 expression in the severe preeclampsia group were significantly higher than those of normal and the slight group(P0.05),and the expression of TGFβ_1 was no significant difference between the slight preeclampsia and normal women(P=0.087)The levels of MMP-9 expression in the severe and slight preeclampsia group were significantly lower than those of normal group(P0.05).There was a significantly negative correlation between the expression of TGFβ_1 and MMP-9 in placental tissue(P0.05).Conclusion:The abnormal expression of TGFβ_1 and MMP-9 in placenta leads to insufficient trophoblasts infiltration and might be involved in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.
