Abstract

Objective To assess the value of MicroPure imaging in detecting microcalcifications in breast neoplasms.Methods Microcalcifications of 57 breast neoplasms were detected with MicroPure imaging and high-frequency ultrasonography respectively,and the abilities to detect microcalcifications in breast neoplasms of these two methods were analyzed statistically.Results The detection rate of MicroPure imaging of breast microcalcification was 82.45%(47/57),significantly higher than that of high-frequency ultrasonography(35/57,61.40%).There was significant difference between the two methods(P0.01).The detection rate of MicroPure imaging for benign and malignant breast microcalcifications was 85.71%(18/21) and 80.56%(29/36),respectively,obviously higher than those of high-frequency ultrasonography(12/21,57.14%;23/36,63.89%),and the differences were statistically significant(all P0.05).The detection rate of MicroPure imaging for breast microcalcification(26/33,78.78%) was higher than that of high-frequency ultrasonography(21/33,63.63%) in hypoechoic tumors,but no significant difference was found(P0.05).Difference of the detection rate for non-hypoechoic breast microcalcificationions was found between MicroPure imaging(21/24,87.50%) and high-frequency ultrasonography(14/24,58.33%,P0.05).Conclusion Compared with high-frequency ultrasonography,MicroPure imaging can better show microcalcifications within breast neoplasms.
