Abstract
In this article, the influences of extrusion ratio and extrusion temperature on the microstructure and mechanical properties of hot extruded AZ31 magnesium alloy are studied. The results show that the microstructure of the AZ31 alloy is effectively refined after hot extrusion. The grains become finer and the tensile strength gets obviously enhanced with extrusion ratio increasing. The extrusion temperature also affects the microstructure and property of the alloy, and with extrusion temperature increasing, the grains become growing up.In this experiment, the AZ31 magnesium alloy extruded at 350 ℃ and extrusion ratio 35 can gain homogeneous microstructure and good mechanical properties.
