Abstract
Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety between Aripiprazole and Clozapine in treatment of schizophrenia.Method: A hundred patients with schizophrenia were randomly divided into two groups receiving Aripiprazole or Clozapine treatment respectively. The periods of treatment were 6 weeks. The positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS) and treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS) were used to evaluate the efficacy and side effects. Results: The efficacy rate of Aripiprazole was 94%,in which 84% were improved markedly. The efficacy rate of Clozapine was 90%,in which 80% were improved markedly. The PANSS scores in both groups decreased significantly after treatment;there was no significant difference in efficacy between two groups.Aripiprazole had fewer side effects than Clozapine. Conclusions: Aripiprazole is an effective drug for schizophrenia, with few side effects.
